C'MON PEOPLE!!

Sorry, just had to boast about this one. This is some high quality, top-dollar kid right here. I was looking back through some old pictures of the kids and this one deserves to be (re?)posted, for all I know, it may already be on here.

Here's one for the far flung family

We went and rode the new Portland Tram today. It was really cool, they sort of had a street fair feel to it, lots of booths with cool stuff and such. The ride itself is amazing, 3300 feet in three minutes, climbing 500 feet high at 22 miles per hour. The view ain't bad either, see for yourself below....

This is why my mom is cooler than yours...

So my Grandma passed away recently and Moms had her mail transferred to her address so she could close out Grandma's estate. This past week when she received a bill from the local phone company for $14.37 for "quarterly equipment rental fee" it raised her eyebrows. Upon further inspection she found out my grandma had been leasing a rotary phone from AT&T for the past 33 years, to the tune of roughly $4.00 a month. Which, friends, works out to about $1500.00 and some change. For a rotary phone. A baby shit brown rotary phone. Long story short, AT&T sent her a postage paid envelope to facilitate the return of said item. Seriously. The heading on the instructions started out "Dear valued AT&T customer..." so this is what my Moms put on the envelope for her return address.
P.S. - In case you are wondering, when asked just exactly what the fee would be if she failed to return this wonderful $1500.00 rotary phone, believe it or not, the person on the other end of the line did not have that exact figure readily available.

Turn up the volume.....

And play this little beauty -

I swear it wont haunt your dreams, really.

The building that wasn't

I love finding abstract things like this on the side of the road. I think this was to be a parking garage and was never completed. Recently, everything froze up and this was a big ice cube that I was unable to shoot due to the fact that there was too much ice on the road to stop. Ho hum, just imagine it, I assure you, dear readers, it was really pretty.

It's true!

Though I hope I get more than just one, I suppose you have to get by with what you get.

Lake Samish

Took this this morning up in northern Washington. Much like the black and white tree photo from a few months back, had to slam on the brakes and walk back 300 yards to get it, but, at least I got it.

Hey, look! My very first link!

So I'm not too savvy at the whole "computer" thing, but I think I did this right. This blog doesn't seem to want to let me post the panoramic of the Getty any larger, but hit this link and it will get a bit bigger.

Had fun in California - here is some evidence...

Well, we flew down to L.A. as some of you know, and had a lot of fun, got really annoyed at traffic ("Bob!!"), had some of the best pancakes I've ever had in my life, my very first Thai food, drove more than any one little shitbox (sorry Mike and Shauna) gray Toyota ever should, and took a lot of pictures to prove it. Here are some of them...... Posted by Picasa

And more...

My friend Mother Nature

Just when I thought I had seen all types of snow, it snowed.....snowballs. I know what you're thinking, "hey Matt, that is hail". It was soft and splattered when it hit the ground. Kinda weird. Posted by Picasa

Pretty....

This poorly done mock-up will give the viewer a good idea of just how large these things are. Please forgive my oh-so crude photoshop skillz. Posted by Picasa

Stupid Blog!!

Tried three times now to put this picture of my ugly face up here for all ya'll to see. If it doesn't work this time, too bad!

Don't I look happy? It's cuz I am!

Cross this off my list of things I want to do before I die. This windfarm is out in eastern Oregon south of the gorge. I just can't describe how HUGE these things are, you just have to see them for yourself. I included the picture of myself delighting in it all. Posted by Picasa

One less thing....

There were some requests.....

A few people wanted to see me in the pointy hat as well. In my defense, I did add the one with me and the kids when I put the other ones up, however ( technical mumbo jumbo ahead: use caution when reading, moderator holds no responsibilty for injuries both real and/or imagined incurred while partaking in the following text ) if you do not click "hold" on each and every picture you put in the "picture tray" when you go to post them to the blog, only the selected photos will post. I did the one with the kids and me last and forgot to hit "hold". Simply a little forgetfulness on my part. Posted by Picasa
